Constructing Knowledge

Preschool at UCCC includes three-year-olds through the age of six in five classrooms:

• Big Dippers
• Shooting Stars
• Supernovas
• Superstars
• Horizons

At this point in their development children are beginning to construct knowledge in a more "concrete, operational way."   Play becomes more symbolic and represents life experiences.  At UCCC we are able to solidify and embed those learning experiences in a social environment.

Teachers are able to work the Missouri pre-k standards in with UCCC's own unique approach to early education.  

Critical to early development is spending a lot of time outside.  Let's take a look at our playground
